Give Flakey Lips a Mint Chocolate Kiss

When the weather outside gets brutal, one of the first victims of the bitter cold is your lips. That pretty little pucker gets dry, chapped and flaky faster than you can say Pillsbury and lip balm just doesn’t quite cut it. Fixing this common problem is as simple as a lip scrub….which you can find anywhere. But lets be honest, if it’s going on your lips its going in your mouth so you want to keep it as natural (and tasty!) as possible.

This super easy, all natural, deliciously effective Mint Chocolate Lip Scrub is seriously like rubbing Junior Mints on your lips….but a million times more nourishing.

What You’ll Need…

Measuring Spoons & Small Bowl
A Fork
2 Tbsp Organic Fine Raw Sugar*
1 Tbsp Cacao/Cocoa Powder*
1 Tsp Coconut Oil*
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
2-3 Drops Peppermint Essential Oil

  1. First, use the fork to mix the dry ingredients – Sugar & Cacao Powder – together until well blended.
  2. Next, add the coconut oil, vanilla extract and peppermint oil and blend. Don’t use more than 3-4 drops of the peppermint oil. Aside from taking it from minty-fresh to swallowing a mountain of mint, it might even sting your lips too much.
  3. Transfer the scrub to a sealable container and Enjoy!

Another amazing quality in this lip scrub is that it’s so darn affordable. Lush sells a version called Mint Julips, which is lovely but paying $10 for less than an ounce is not and since our version came out to around fifty cents and ounce, you do the math. Also the coconut oil contains fatty acids and antioxidants that moisturize and nourish your lips which the cacao and peppermint give your mouth a tasty treat. With a taste like York Peppermint Patties or Andes mints, you’ll want to eat this stuff out of the jar and because of the natural ingredients there’s no nasty indigestible chemicals so you can! Like with any scrub, bacteria can still breed in natural ingredients and turn your scrub into a gourmet petri dish so always make sure you use freshly washed hands or better yet, a small utensil to scoop out what you need.
