An Ode To Moonrise Kingdom

“What kind of bird are you?”. Oh how we love Moonrise Kingdom. Wes Anderson knows how to make an incredible film that’s as stimulating to the eye as it is to the heart. If you haven’t watched it, we highly recommend it. If you have, you know what we’re talking about. For the later, we attempt to pay homage to this fine film with ways you bring a little Moonrise Kingdom whimsy into your lives without having to travel to New Penzance Island.

One of our favorite opening scenes was this epic shot in the upstairs walkway. Sure there’s several more scenes (1000 more to be exact) that we would say fight to be our favorite but without giving too much of the movie away, we settled here.

  1. Oh the memories these visuals stir up for me. I never went to camp, but the clothes, records, and ambiance are still vivid in my mind. Lovely to know that they can still be a presence in my life.

Wes Anderson nailed it with this movie. I’ve been a fan of his for a while, but this movie was fantastic. I couldn’t help but let a few tears sneek out.
